The cake, the cake



Started adding items to the girl screen since I didn't really want to do sex stats at work.  I'll admit I lazed around for the most part but the icons are appearing and being loaded into the screen which is a win.  Just need to add float over, drag, drop, landers, loading girls already equipped items, stat changes, cycling through pages...

Way to freaken much.

Also there was a rather cool announcement on the boards unfortunately the link isn't working so will hold off to advertising it till tomorrow.

Just cruising along adding stuff and positioning.  About as dull as dull gets.  Then move everything a little that way and this way trying to find the best spot for everything so the screen looks balanced to me.  But its different then yesterday and that is what counts.

Girl Screen first look



So first look at the new girl screen.  About the same you will notice a few modifications right off though.  Sex stats are no longer in the main stats, to allow for much more detail and control.  Same with combat stats.   Like I said previously items are back on the front rather then having to go through buttons to get to them.  Not sure about the positioning for the other items sex/combat/effects.  But still have lots of room to play with.  Everything is quite a bit bigger and easier to read as well.

Docclox is Uber


I have no idea where this is from, anyone?

So still working on the character -> GirlScreen rewrite.  It is really dull and with nothing on tv going really slow.  The only possible technical issue was getting the girl dolls (ef Frames) to work with a seprate .swf.  But I should have know Docclox's programming is too good to be confused by something that simple and after about 30 minutes of stupid mistakes its up and running.  The bigger screen also means that I can now display player items and girl items side by side with out having to use combo boxes.  SOMETHING THAT ALWAYS PISSED ME OFF.  I would show screen caps but it would really look like I had done nothing... which is so true.

Ikubi seems to be winning as the manager of the pens.  Lots of images for her which is a plus.

Lots of little odd bits



True screen cap. Moving my porn from a 1/2 TB to a 1 TB drive. Part of the new 3TB movie drive project. Want to remove a few of the older drives and just have 1 porn / 1 manga / 1 movie drive.

 Pens are done got the logic finished yesterday... okay they should be done I need to add pens cost dialog but that's a 15 minute job I forgot.

 Still accepting ideas for a pens manager. So background the pens manager would work for the guild, would not be an overly nice person and I would really like to do a scene with her and Virgilia. Something like...

 *Pens Manager* Here's my daily report. 2 Slaves injured do to fighting, 4 slaves injured because they looked at me the wrong way.

 *PM* Also made 50 gp from usage of publicly owned slaves.

Reworking the character screen renamed to GirlScreen because that is a LOT less confusing. May stream or not tonight as its really just dull programming to rebuild a screen.

Pens Remodel

More streaming tonight... most likely if it happens it happens. Pens remodel externally is about done just need to re-write the collision internally. I think the bars are a much better visual aid then check boxes and I hope everyone agrees with me on that. Going to need someone to be in charge of the pens soon. Any suggestions for a keeper? Daisy

Gril Card Logic done with a treat



Got the girl card logic done.   Was pretty fast now that the landers are added the locations are mapped and the logic for the collision and job exchange was already done.  Only thing I did special for them is that when you select a job from a girl card it is a job but if you hover anywhere else it is a mini pic of the girl.  Really happy with that was way easy to do and makes a lot more logic sense.   That way you don't have girls moving to girls.  You have jobs moving to girls.  But you do have girls moving to rooms.

Got a large portion of the master bedroom done.

And rooms are done!  That took way to long but thankfully the rest should fall much faster as the x y mapping is done and the girl collision is done.  (Girl moving to room with a girl already in it.)  So now we get a new list...

A bit shorter this time around the main reason being jobs can't be moved anyways so don't have to worry about them.  Only technical issue is that the picked up item can't be a job and has to be a copy of the girl image... I'm hoping to have all these done this weekend.

Another day of landers and logic



More landers and logic.  First off Room(Job) -> Girl including collision works.  Also Room(Girl) -> Girl fails out.  And the landers either are green or red to help everyone out.

Landers for Room(Job) -> room(Job) are working but the wrong color... (they should be red... after all you cant change exchange room jobs just the people in the room) still need to add logic to get it to fail out.

Basically for just the room bar need logic for

Room(job) -> Girl  done!
Room(Girl) -> Girl  (fail) Done!
Room(Job) -> room (Job)  (fail) (almost done but showing wrong color)
Room(Girl) -> Room (girl)
Room(Job) -> Master Bedroom (fail)
Room(Girl) -> master bedroom

And thats just the logic for ONE of 3...  While I'm of course going to keep on recycling code and hopefully making good functions it's still a long process...

Playing with Landers

Playing around with landers and working for problems before they crop up.  A bit of an issue that I was expecting where stuff that isn't the base card isn't being recognized.  (Such as button or images on the card)  Still playing with trying to figure out why this is happening since they should all be part of the same object.  I did mention that the next week or 2 will be dull.

Success again!

So there were technical hurtles, at the start that I was unsure if I could get them to work the way I wanted.  The first was copying.  Which with a little finesse is now up and running.  The other was recognizing items being floated over.  Normally something really simple but not so when each item can move around the screen and even be stacked on top of each other.  I can proudly say that I have leapt that hurtle as well, and it fell a lot easier then I was expecting.  As a matter of fact there were a few times when I thought that this one might be a lot tougher.  But using the extends command for all the classes worked wonders.  And with just modifying the on screen holder so that the last item is always at the top it makes for an easy way to recognize what class or item the drag is floating over.

The code once all that is set up is so simple its almost sad.

First technical hurtle out of the way and now can copy and drag and drop.  Yay... next technical hurtle has to do with move and recognizing what I'm no top of.  A much more interesting proposition yes...

Anyways the domain exists and it points right over to the old thing.

Success or something like it


So one of the major problems I was having was copying on screen items.  When copying them you can only do so if they are bitmaps.  And you can't assign properties ( or tags) to bitmaps.  Why?  I wish to the all mighty programming god I had an answer for that one. So after reading dozens of online articles that were no help whatsoever, (I think because its to simple of a problem).  I finally stumbled across a working method.  Though I still haven't tried it practically to see if there are any conflict with other event handlers.

It comes down to putting the bitmap in container.  Sort of like putting a frame on an image.  For those interested.  My original copy code....

Trial and Error

More testing to see if what I want is possible.  The extends classes seem to be doing everything I thought it would do.  Which allows me to tag the objects with there actual class held into it.   Now to figure out how to change the bitmap copied girl images into display objects and...  I think I will be lazy.

Any productive suggestions on the main screen mock up?

Fixing Obvious bugs

Spent the majority of the night fixing obvious bugs that cropped up when I could see all the things together.
--- The rooms no longer leaving behind images if you rapidly changed selections
--- The health bar for the girl cards loading in the wrong spot on initial.
--- And as seen in the picture above... something ain't right still working on that one.

And still trying to figure out how to actually connect them all together.  I'm pretty sure I will use extends classes and then the "is" statement once I know what type of class I am floating over.  Weather or not that will work is going to be fun!  Also have to keep track of which item is on top of the screen and then on down in case some idiot lines up multiple cards on top of each other.  Then there is actually taking an object and copying it and the movement since it seems problematic to have object from two different objects touching each other.... Believe it or not up until now was the easy part...

Master bedroom room done... not really



Okay the master bedroom bar is done... not really.  As you can tell a lot of the data is just missing as I need to redo the assistant jobs one more time to actually make them work consistent with everything else.  But at least its good enough to do a test so hopefully tomorrow I can finally pull all the toys together into one giant cluster...
