Close to a release
Koffi has suggested reducing the number of breast images to allow for easier making of items. Please go vote for which you prefer. Board Link Must Be Logged In.
------------
Docclox fixed the bugs related to the disappearing slaves on the auction block. And a bug with mini images not being released. Thanks Docclox
------------
Expect a hot release in the next day or two a few bugs I am still just verifying that I can't reproduce and then a last hot fix that I'm hoping will become an official release.

Status
So there were a few bugs...
I'm currently working on finishing up effects. Got lactation and virgin to come back, but there just back, not working. So will keep puttering with them as I want the effects completely automated from xml. Which is going to take a while but the idea that you can build "The great anal vibrator of Boehner" (sorry for the political jokes) and add an effect that adds +1 insanity each day. With out any internal programming will add a few billion item options.
Docclox has found the problem behind the red screen of auction. And he's found the sales code! So we should have those up and working sooner rather then later.
Compuscribe has been working on the save and load, check the forums for updates. Thanks all the evil gods, because I really don't want to play with it.
And that is all for today.

Getting Stuff done, but what really is stuff?
So I said that I was going to work on effects. That was a complete and utter lie. Instead with the help of Docclox we went hunting down the major bugs. Fixed one with all the girls being sent to room 1 from the pens. It was seriously getting crowded in that room. Also it was impossible to unlock stuff, fixed. And you could actually remove any items you wanted in the blacksmith except locked items and those were kept by the blacksmith her sticky fingers problem was resolved with counseling. Docclox fixed a fun little bug with comparing the mini pics was always returning the first one. Resulting in the game thinking that you were always picking up or clicking the first mini pic on the main screen, even if you were trying to move the second girl to another room. Thanks for fixing it Docclox.
As for tonight personal jobs are broke and I was thinking fixing them is more important then effects. Since someone will complain if I do a release and your no longer able to fuck your slave. Pretty sure its an issue where I changed from normal pre-loaded to instances will take a look probably just need to add name tags.

Game Compiles and Seems to Work

So the game is compiling and seems to work. Not pretty but it seems to work. All thanks to Docclox. So many odd bugs that are going to have to be hunted down before we can even call it ready for debugging. But that's fine no crash is good.
Going to play with extends classes tonight and see if I can get it to work or just set them up as a normal class. Either way should be interesting.

Rance 2 is done... only around 6 hours. :( But the ending was awesome. Two thumbs up. So to stop the inevitable e-mails.
Wiki - I updated the walk through enough that everything should be doable until the person who was doing a detailed walk through catches up.

Thanks for the help.

Good days everyone. Not really a lazy day just, stuck in training at work so not getting anything done. (Except screwing my sleep cycle.) Docclox has reappeared from the darkness of the internet so I'm hoping beyond hope the display code will get fixed and we can finally start going towards a debug. Since that was the next thing that was needed to be tackled and I didn't want to touch it.
-----------------
Thanks for all the suggestions and knowledge about laptops. After a lot of review I'm really leaning towards:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=576146&CatId=4938
Which seems like the best features for the price, just can't seem to find a deal for it. Will keep trying.

Ah! Misssed an update?!?!

First off apologies I missed an update... I blame the fact that blogger was down.
Second off we're about 3 days from the one year anniversary of Otherworld. As far as I can tell may 15th was when Otherworld got the name and was officially announced rather then just a bunch of test programs.
And so whats going on... Using Docclox rather brilliant pallet system, I have combat and exploration running in the same program to make testing going back and forth between the two possible. And it works. Passing information between the two is probably one of the most important things as combat and exploration are going to be clicking back and forth rather constantly in a final version. Not really that surprising. As you can see though I have been tearing code out of the combat, trying to hmm... see if I can break it. Almost ready to start trying to add in Redcape's sprites. As you can probably tell their is still a ton of work to be done, and then there's xml parsing that the attack tester was doing that has to be added... oh and updating the attack tester with the new sprites... and... not something that will be done any time soon. Also I want to rewrite the math all together for combat it just is to 1 shot.

New event frames by Docclox, Middleman by Irrbloss

Docclox has put together an example of the new frame Displayer. To allow for easy multiple people on screen. A picture is worth a thousand words but an example is worth everything...
http://www.otherworld.lehighshopping.com/userfiles/event_frame.swf

Not to be outdone Irrbloss has build a little java program that lets you select what girls you want to bring into the game and edits the xml Master list with out doing more then selecting check marks. How cool is that. Especially with 20+ girls now.
Also Irrbloss has been promoted to "Text Editor and Chief". Basically a job he was already doing with a title now.
Lots of interesting stuff going on... I'm starting to think this release might be really cool.

A frog on a log, on the bottom of the sea

Sing along if you know the song. There is a frog on a log on the bottom of the sea. There is an array of classes on frog on a log on the bottom of the sea. There is an array of classes, in an array of classes, on a frog on a log on the bottom of the sea. There is an array of classes, in an array of classes, in an array of classes, on a frog on a log on the bottom of the sea.
But it gives a large range of motion... which can't really see with static pictures. But that sword is growing, moving, and turning at the same time. That is about the best I'm going to be able to do with my current brain. A few bugs with hiding aoes need to be fixed and then I think I'm done building an animation system. Give it a try again and of course its all xml so can be changed with no issues or added to.
Combat Tester 4

Docclox is finishing up the new auction screen to see it in action update the trunk and then run otherworld/zero_test/simple.swf. It looks so much better then the old version but still keeps and adds to the actual feel.

A couple cleans

Another slow day still trying to get Mio converted. Compare that to Lonewolf who has converted all of the girls that I don't maintain. I wanted to give him a big official thank you, that was a lot of work. He got all those girls changed up to the new format in the time it took me to do two.
Also since I'm doing thank you's for the week. Thanks to Docclox who is integrating his xml girl classes in as we speak and to Redcape for the great clothes.
Tomorrow should have a more advanced version of the combat tester done.

Some Paper Dolls

Thought you guys would like to see more paper doll examples of Zero_Profile's bodies and Redcape's clothes.
More or less a lazy day. Finished converting the princess to the new format and adding at least 50 new pics. Started working on Orihime next. Lonewolf has been just a monster at changing the girls over to the new format and has almost all of the other girls done already.
Both of these projects are available on the SVN where you can go play with them yourself. Like always though you will need a copy of flash to compile the programs.

Wow! More mods to the player screen.

I really didn't get much done last night. Started some accounting screen but didn't get it finished. I realize that some people don't play Otherworld as a business sim, but some do. And as always my goal is unfocused play as you want to play, play it as a h-game, sim, rpg or whatever combination you feel like.

Just thought you guys wanted to see the options that Docclox and Redcape are putting together for the paper dolls. LOTS of OPTIONS and there discussing adding more. Really looking forward to seeing this integrated into the game.

Girl_Tester and Player Screen

Okay, so I thought I would package up the girl tester and let you guys have some fun. Now with Asuka thanks to lonewolf. Please understand that most likely its already out of date, I'm adding pictures to the princess when ever I get bored with way. But this will give everyone a compiled version to play with.
To change girls I've highlighted it. Also if you want to make your own girl you can just type her name in there or go bug the chat and I will build a version with your girl name in it.
Download Girl_Tester

My update for the day. Player screen getting some more features and beginning to show data. I don't know if I mentioned it before but Docclox has built up a way to change avatars (and yes I will fix the misspelling).

And Docclox's worked hard to get a new layering system out for clothing. Redcape has been pushing hard for more layers to do skirt and blouse and under where and garters and jewelry and... You get the picture. Should make for a great version in the long run, lets keep cheering Docclox on!

Clothing Example

Redcape made the fine outfits, Zero_Profile made the girls, and Docclox did the coding. Creating these great examples of the paper doll. Definitely getting there, though as Docclox pointed out Bikini Wax will quickly become popular for the low legs. To me the fact that this was all by three different people to create something that I think everyone will enjoy and that I had very little to do with just shows that Otherworld is quickly becoming more then a one man show. Which I'm sure everyone will agree is the important next step to expand content to a full sized game.
Lazy Day,

Character Screen and Girl Tester

The counter system about done (for girls, still need to play with it for players). Not really going to do all the sex acts until they settle down and get finalized with the new system.

The worksafe version. I'm rather proud of how it does the worksafe by doing an inline string function.

Docclox is obviously doing the cool stuff compared to my instancing and counters. He has built an entire girl tester that allows for testing events as well. This will really help out the slave creators out there. And allow for testing of girl specific events easily. Very thrilling, stuff, plus it cycles through all the pictures allowing testing to see if there working or will pull a generic version if there not. To tell you the truth it is awesome. Go play with it your self. Its in the SVN trunk/otherworld/lab/generic_girl/girl_tester.fla
SVN is up to date.

New Title Screen

Still vegging.
But Docclox new xml girls and loader is now the standard. And while there are some bugs, related to the conversion, it is so much faster loading. It also has otherworld back to working on linux and Firefox. Just want to give a big thank you to Docclox for his hard work. (Take a deep breath don't make fun of linux users, those quitters who can't take the unstable and buggy windows and go to a solid free operating system. The same as ex-smokers.)
Sadly vacation is almost over just another two days left and then back to work.
