As a response to compuscribes question. Currently the max is 12 houses. There is also a max room and a max quests. Mainly because I just didn't want to add the additional programming at this points. For 2 reasons I'm lazy and more complications is not very stable script. Yes those additions will have to be added later on but just aren't really necessary right now.
Daisy
holy crap! thats a much bigger choice i wonder what the difirences are....
ReplyDeleteWell you could also add a Old Shakle/Apartment in the red light destrict.
ReplyDeleteA Dojo/Temple in the Shrine destrict.
Old Atelier in the Trading destrict.
Farm near the Green Edge or Pit.
Lakeside House, or Apartment in the Mainstreet.
Maybe you schould also limit the space for funrniture and likes/dislike, stats/boosts for those different choices.
You could also use a ranking system like start at Old shakle, can buy better one with x ammount of cash and x ammount or reputation.
Or something like this ;)
There are a lot of options. You could throw in a brothel, an abandoned factory, a warehouse, an old prison, an overrun fort on the edge of The Green, and countless other options I couldn't even begin to imagine.
ReplyDeleteAs I said, now that the different housing choices actually affect real things beyond the graphics and number of rooms available, 12 rooms, which may seem like a lot, now, will eventually become constrictive.
Still, Daisy's right, with only 5 houses, right now, adding 7 more would be a 140% increase, so we've got a ways to go. It doesn't need to be tackled, right this second, but it will need to be dealt with, eventually, 'cause sooner or later, someone will try adding a 13th house, and they'll wonder why it isn't working.
@b00marrows - I wouldn't get too excited. It looks like the 7 "new" houses are just copies of the other 5. I imagine Daisy simply copy/pasted the XML data to demonstrate what the game is capable of handling. I'm pretty sure there are only the 5 houses from the previous post, right now.
This is good news, but I would like to show up in the credits version of the program (such as - version 0.0.1 on January 1, 2012). It's quite convenient for developers and for the fans (and there are quite a few) as well as hotelosby get the package to create and design mods (so-called MOD-kit). Thank you.
