Tattoo update, bug fixes, assistant jobs

This is what we in the business like to refer to as a bug.

Tattoo shop has improved text.   Hmm.. certain rumors seem to be circulating recently.  I also flopped yoko so she would be more visible as the background.

Assistant jobs.  Artist and Musician have been pulled apart and now are separate jobs.

Random bug fixes check trello for details.  Will probably re-release once I get money for assistants working... maybe today or tomorrow.

One Butler

Thanks SexyNekoMira that worked.

Tattoos are now up and running but need testing.  So anyone on the SVN if you could test out the tattoos I would be appreciative.   The tattoo system worked just no events for the items.

Tattoo finished.. event items...

Okay tattoo is finished now, I think unless something new pops up.

The cool part is that the freeby tattoo is pushed through the event system. See pastebin for the xml. I added a lot of fun stuff to this one command does the check to see if the item exists, add the item, remove the item, refresh the display if necessary. I rather like it and adds a lot of extra stuff to the event system. More fun not sure what I will play with next should work on the stacker but not interested.

----------------

As a completely unrelated item. I've been stuck for the last week or two trying to remember an anime where the magical girlfriend think she was a robot uses paints to cook creating wonderful looking food that of course tastes like paint. Also sure there was a scene where this girl was in an art room looking at the paints and commenting what great food she could make with them. That's all I remember and its been nagging at me for a week. Anyone know what series it was?

Tattoo mostly finished

Tattooing mostly works. Small issue that tattoo plans aren't removed... which is a quick clean up tonight. Also spend an hour or so working on an item checking, adding, removing from evesys so the free tattoo will work... which has proved to be rather easy. As some basic notes Player.itemArray has been moved to GameData.itemArray. To allow compiling in local test versions.

Forgot to mention it yesterday but MegaUpload is dead. Not sure which uploader I'm going to use as my back up. Not a big fan of any of there other ones besides media fire. Will be thinking about it.

Tattoo's 1/2 way done

First off I want to thank Mephisto Pheles for an updated version of the cow corset and gloves that fix most of the boob problems. Thank you sir.

Worked last night on the tattoo shop. Got most of the stuff done except for the actual tattooing. Pretty dull to tell you the truth most of it is copy and pasting then updating the code to the newer systems and changing variables. Probably one to two nights left on tattooing before its back working.

Shops done, furniture not so much

Shops are done, including blacksmith and tattooist. Built a separate class for placing the girl items like I had already done with the player items. Something that I'm really impressed with is that these placing classes actually add the event listeners through the use of using variables pointing to functions. Very cool, not something I would have tried to do even 3 months ago.

The furniture screen is a pain in the ass again just like always. Mainly the issue is the producer not being able to be linked to the image version and having to be linked back in through the back door I created through the pointers to the array. Nothing impossible but the answer I had made earlier not quite working perfectly. So more new functions...

Shops about done (again)

I had to share this pic. Though why can't there be tsundere big breasted lolis? Why are they always crybabies?

So shops are just about done should get them finished tonight (again) and hopefully for the last time. Stacking is working inside the shops, it was actually the easiest part of the re-implementation. Fixing bugs of the string to class change was more of the head banger. Should get to furniture tonight and fingers crossed back to player and assistant. Hoping to be done with Items by the end of this week and polishing the piece of crap for a release after that.

Sorting + Integration = Pound Head

Another 6 pack of sorts. Value sorting now added since it was suggested in the comments.

One of the coolest things of the new sorting system is that I can set a default sort upon entering a screen. So if you go into the tattoo shop, it defaults sorts tattoo plans. If you go into the blacksmith it default sorts locking items. Drops player confusion level by quite a bit. Though the combo box is still there so if the player wants to see everything he/she/it can.

Still working on the integration, of the sorting last night in the shops didn't quite get it perfect, but I think will get it done in an hour or so tonight. Then will start working on furniture I think.

Tattooist back up

Got the Tattooist up and running. Blacksmith, branding works, locking still needs love. Comes back to my old enemy the multi-slots. On the other hand it should be a lot easier now that slots are parsed in in an array. Look in this slot... its full, look in this slot... its full, look in this slot... its empty, not for long. Arrays make it a lot easier to do compares with little code.

I want to thank Flashnovice for new images to be used for the extended girl slots.

Items keep on haunting my dreams.

A couple of the town locations in Otherworld

Haven't shown any images for otherworld in a while, this here is two of the town locations. Unfortunately they are more mock up then actual play screens, if you look behind them there is nothing there.

The first is the item shop, "The Cats Paw Trading" and the second is our neighborhood Tattooist. I think Yoko was born for the role.

It took me 3 different try's before I got the text displayer to work well but now I'm really happy with it. Here's the code for the tattooist (English Nazis please bite your tongue.)

storyHopper.push("" + peopleName(1100) +
"Welcome to my store, young one. As you can see I am the town's premier tattooist. But, it wasn't fate that led you to me, you have heard rumors, right? Of magical tattoos...");

storyHopper.push("" + peopleName(1100) +
"For a price and a pattern, I can tattoo anyone with powers they were not born with. For another price, I can remove my work, and the ability it gives. Though, I do hate destroying my art.");

storyHopper.push("" + peopleName(1100) +
"Have, I satisfied your curiosity? Or perhaps you came for another reason, entirely.");

storyHopper.push("The tattooist gives you a lusty stare, and laughs, at your blushing face.");

mainTextStart(1100, 0, 0);

Nice easy HTML control of the text (which unfortunatly is being displayed by the blogger because its html), pushed all into a array and then popped off. mainTextStart gives persons pic for the right and left spot, the last is events to pop when the text is done. I'm sure someone out there could do it better but this works nicely.
